We are looking to recruit a permanent multi-skilled advocate, working 37 hours per week, to join our busy and dynamic Kent, London & Sussex multi- disciplinary team, starting salary £23,314 per annum.

What we need from you
We are looking for someone with the creativity and enthusiasm to support people in difficult circumstances, ideally with experience in a health or social care. If you haven’t got advocacy qualifications it’s not a problem, we will provide the required training. You’ll be mainly working from home but will also need to engage with your colleagues and external people in a variety of community settings and via MS Teams.
As this role is home based with regular travel across the region, you must have access to both a stable home broadband service, a clean driving licence and your own transport as well as flexibility with working hours. We also need you to live either in Kent or surrounding counties.

Earlier this year we received confirmation of a three-year funding agreement from the National Lottery Community Fund to provide our community mental health advocacy service across Leicester, Leicestershire, and Rutland.
We are looking for an inspiring, highly committed individual to lead the delivery of this service, lead the development of new services through which to support the people in our community, and as a member of the charity’s Leadership Team, play an active role in further growing our role in the community.
To do this you will lead a small team comprising of Community Mental Health Advocates and Information and Advice Officers. About the role:
This role involves both face to face and virtual support in a hybrid model of working. There is an expectation that you will do a mixture of working from home, our office near Old Street and in co-location at Kings College Hospital. You will:
- Implement effective ways of working with victims to increase safety & reduce harm
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to victims of domestic abuse
- Work within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership responses to domestic abuse
- Run group training sessions & share your specialist knowledge with acute staff across the hospital

You will need:

London Victim and Witness Service is recruiting for 2 x DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate (IDVA). These roles are full-time working one-day per week in the office and the other days from home, with regular travel required to visit clients and attend meetings.
About DRIVE:
The Drive model is based on an intensive case management approach and explicitly targets high risk perpetrators of domestic abuse associated with victims who have been referred to the MARAC. The focus of this role is in increasing safety for victims-survivors, children and families, whilst those who cause harm, the perpetrators, have measures in place to disrupt abuse and change behaviour.

About the role:
This role will be part of our IDVA team in the London Victim and Witness Service. As a DRIVE Independent Domestic Violence Advocate you will:
- Address the safety of victims at high risk of harm
- Serve as a victim's primary point of contact by working with their clients from the point of crisis to assess the level of risk, discuss the range of suitable options and develop safety plans.
- Be pro-active in implementing the plans, including actions from MARAC, which address immediate safety and enable victims to protect themselves and their children, as well as longer term solutions, using sanctions and services via criminal and civil courts, housing options and other organisations.
You will need:
- Have a knowledge of help-seeking barriers and support needs of victims of domestic abuse (in heterosexual or same-sex relationships).
- Have a good understanding of domestic abuse including the impact of domestic abuse on victims and their children.
- Understand the principles of risk assessment, safety planning and risk management for victims of domestic abuse and their children
- Understand safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues.
- Direct service delivery to victims of domestic abuse or other vulnerable people.
- Have excellent communication, negotiation and advocacy skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals. Understand and be committed to equal opportunities and diversity issues in policy and practice.
- Have a strong crisis management skills and the ability to deal with stressful and difficult situations.

About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for an Advocate to join our team covering Elgin and the surrounding area.
